Troubleshooting
My friends can't find my table nearby
Everyone needs the app open and local network access allowed (Settings → Pixel Card Club → Local Network). Being on the same Wi-Fi helps; Bluetooth also works at close range. Then host the table and let your friends tap Join a table nearby.
Someone dropped out in the middle of a game
At a table nearby, they get back into the running game once their phone reconnects; turning Wi-Fi off and on again often helps. Meanwhile, the host can let the computer cover their seat.
Inviting friends online doesn't work
Both of you need to be signed in to Game Center (Settings → Game Center) and be Game Center friends, or reach each other through Messages. Accept the invite from the notification or the message.
A game I bought shows as locked
Open the game's unlock card and tap Restore purchases, signed in with the Apple Account you bought it with. Your free game is remembered in iCloud, so it stays yours after reinstalling.
Frequently asked questions
What is Pixel Card Club?
A collection of classic card games for iPhone and iPad, drawn in pixel art: two from each of Switzerland, Italy, France, Germany and Austria. You play against the computer, with friends around one table, or with friends online.
Which games are in it?
Schieber and Gämsch from Switzerland, Scopa and Briscola from Italy, Belote and Tarot from France, Mau-Mau and Schwimmen from Germany, and Schnapsen and Watten from Austria. Each is played with its own deck: Swiss Jass cards, Neapolitan cards, French cards, the 78-card tarot, and the German-suited deck with the Weli.
What's free?
When you first open the app, you pick one game. That game is yours to keep: deal it against the computer, host it for friends nearby or invite them online. The other games can be added one by one, or all at once with the All Games pass, which also includes every game added later.
Do my friends have to buy the game too?
No. Only the host's games count. Friends with the app can always join your table for free, whichever game you deal.
Do we need internet to play together?
Not around one table. Host a table nearby and your friends join from their own iPhones over the local network, without an internet connection. To play with friends elsewhere, invite them online through Game Center.
What if we're not enough players?
Empty seats are played by the computer. Each country brings its own players: Ueli, Vreni and Sepp deal the Swiss games, Giulia, Luca and Sofia the Italian ones.
Which Jass is it?
Schieber, the Swiss classic: four players in two teams, trumps chosen or pushed to your partner, Weis and Stöck, optional multipliers, and the score chalked on a slate. Play to 1000, 1500 or 2500.
Do I need to know the rules?
No. Every game has its rules inside the app, one tap away when you set up a table: the deck, how a hand goes and how it's scored.
Does the app collect my data?
No. There's no account and no analytics, and nothing is sent to the developer. Games nearby run directly between the phones at the table; online games and purchases are handled by Apple.
Requirements
iPhone or iPad with iOS 26.5 or later. Playing nearby needs local network access; playing online needs a Game Center account.
