Pixel Card Club works without an account and collects no data for the developer. When you play with friends, the game is shared only with the players at your table. Online play and purchases are handled by Apple. This policy explains what the app does with your data and why.
In short

| Games with friends nearby | Directly between the devices at the table, over the local network | No |
| Online games and invites | Apple's Game Center | No |
| Purchases | Apple's App Store | Only anonymous sales reports from Apple |
Who is responsible
Pixel Card Club is developed by Marco Lüthi, the controller responsible for data processing under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

On your device
The app stores the name you play under, the game and table settings you last used, and a random player ID it creates itself. They stay on your device. The player ID contains nothing about you; it only lets a table recognise you when you reconnect after a dropout. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Your free game
The game you pick for free when you first open the app is saved on your device and, if you use iCloud, in the app's iCloud key-value storage, so that it is still yours after reinstalling. iCloud is a service Apple provides to you; the developer has no access to it. Apple processes this data under its own privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy.
Playing with friends nearby
With your permission, Pixel Card Club uses the local network to find and connect to friends' devices around you (Apple's Multipeer Connectivity, over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth). Nearby devices running the app can see your player name while you host or look for a table. During a game, the host's device sends each player what they need to play: the names at the table, their own cards, the cards on the table and the score. This goes directly between the devices at the table. It does not pass through any server and is not stored after the game. You can turn off local network access at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Playing online with Game Center
Online games use Apple's Game Center. If you are signed in to Game Center, Apple handles your Game Center profile, your friends and the invites you send or receive, and relays the game between the players. The developer receives no Game Center data. Game Center is subject to Apple's privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy.
Purchases
Games and the All Games pass are bought through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; the app only checks with the App Store which games you own. The developer receives sales reports from Apple that do not identify you.
Legal basis
Where the GDPR applies, the processing described above is necessary to provide the features you use (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Local network access is based on your choice to allow it, which you can withdraw at any time in the iOS Settings app. Under the Swiss FADP, we process personal data only as described here and in line with its principles.
What Pixel Card Club does not do
- No account, sign-up or login of its own.
- No advertising SDKs, analytics or crash reporting.
- No tracking across apps or websites, and no selling or sharing of data with data brokers.
- No game data, names or contacts are sent to the developer.
This website
This website is a static site without cookies, analytics or tracking. Fonts are served from this website itself, so your browser does not contact third-party font services. When you visit a page, the hosting provider Vercel Inc. (based in the United States, with data centres worldwide) automatically records technical access data in server logs: your IP address, date and time, the requested page, referrer and browser type. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The logs are deleted after a short period. Links to the App Store take you to Apple, where Apple's privacy policy applies.
Your rights
You have the right to request access to your personal data and to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict processing, and to data portability. Because the apps store your data on your device and do not identify you, the developer usually holds no personal data about you. Most of it you can delete yourself by deleting the app.
To exercise your rights, email hi@luthi-mar.co. You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), in the EU the data protection authority of your country.
International transfers
Apple may process data in the United States and other countries. Apple describes the safeguards it uses for these transfers, such as the Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses, in its privacy policy. This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., based in the United States; its server logs are transferred under the same kind of safeguards.
Children
Pixel Card Club is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If the app starts handling data differently, this page will be updated before the change ships, and the date at the top will change.
